ART CLUB & ART HONOR SOCIETY

ADVISOR:  Sue Hebel

Members of the Art Club will participate in an open studio.  The club is held on Tuesday afternoons and anyone is welcome.

The Art Honor Society emphasizes outstanding artistic scholarship and service to the school/community through the development of artistic endeavors together with strong moral character.  By exemplifying these standards, individual student members of the society promote an awareness of art and become active participants in the education process at their school and in their community.

The purposes of the Art Honor Society are to recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in the field of art; serve as an inspiration for students to strive for higher goals in their work; foster excellence and a dedicated spirit in the pursuit of art; encourage the creative abilities and talents of the individual student; assist students in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in the field of art; bring art to the attention of the school and community; increase the awareness of art as a viable area within the total school curriculum; and advance aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the total educational program.  Participants will have taken art for at least one year and maintained a 90 or better average.
