Newton HS to host ESSA State Plan community feedback meeting

Following months of conversations with stakeholders from around the state, the New Jersey Department of Education has released New Jersey’s proposed Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) State Plan for further public comment. Following a 30-day public comment period, the NJDOE will submit the final New Jersey ESSA State Plan to the federal government by the April 3, 2017 deadline.

The Department is seeking input from parents, students, staff, and community members on New Jersey’s state plan proposal. There will also be a brief overview of changes from No Child Left Behind to the Every Student Succeeds Act, as well as an information session on federal funding in schools.
