My name is Nivek Zayas, but students call me Mrs. Z. I am the School Nurse at Newton High School, and I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My nursing journey began as a CHHA, LPN, and Patient Coordinator before becoming a Registered Nurse. I graduated from Holy Name School of Nursing, earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and completed my School Nurse Certificate at Kean University. I’m also on track to complete my Master’s in Nursing by the end of this year. My experience includes labor and delivery, postpartum care, skilled nursing, case management, triage support, and serving as the School Nurse at Franklin Elementary School in North Bergen. I’ve been at Newton High School since 2021, and my goal is to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
