Last night the varsity field hockey team did it again, battling back and toppling powerhouse Frankford (a historically undefeated team) 2-1. With 5 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Hannah Harrison connected with the back of the cage to tie the score 1-1 at halftime. Back-and-forth action in the third quarter led to a scramble around the cage, with Hannah pushing in the Braves second goal, lifting the lead to 2-1. Our total team effort held off the Bulldog's pressure in the fourth quarter, leading us to victory. Outstanding game girls!

Yesterday, scholars and staff dress up like their favorite superhero during our Week of Respect to represent standing up to bullying!
October"Feis"* is a day of fun, games, and music being held at O'Reilly's Pub this Sunday October 13th from 1-8PM! The day of fun was facilitated by our own Halsted FBLA program!

Students in Mrs. Evan's Art Class are currently working on a project linking their art to other art styles of Hispanic Heritage to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Yesterday we also celebrated Everyone Counts Day by wearing shirts with numbers on them!

Hi I'm Ms. Miller! I'm very excited to be part of the Halsted family! My role here at Halsted is Teacher-Coach. I'm really looking forward to working with all of the teachers and staff here. My goal this year is to support our teachers and scholars to achieve success. Here's to an incredible school year!

Earlier this week, 7th Grade students went apple gleaning to help those in need. All of the picked apples will go to local Food Pantries!

Students in our MD classroom will be practicing life skills all year long while taking and fulfilling real time coffee/tea orders for our teachers and staff! Every Tuesday and Friday are beverage days!

Last week, our Best Buds group met for the first time this year! The program, run by Ms. Ahearn, Mrs. Metzgar, Mrs. Carrino, and Ms. Cole is an opportunity for our MD scholars to interact with peers their age and work on real life skills!
