The 5th graders are hard at work amidst the multiple rounds of our Spelling Bee competition. They've completed 3 rounds so far and have 2 to go before the Final Bee!

The 5th grade class took a step back in history today on their trip to the Red Mill Museum in Clinton, NJ on an informative and immersive look into colonial times in America! Students learned about milling, blacksmithing, candle making, and a plethora of trades in colonial era lifestyle!

This week Halsted hosted the Scholastic Book Fair headed by our librarian Ms. Pucci! Students got to peruse a large collection of new release books for children along with fun collectibles and knick knacks. We're happy to continue this yearly tradition!

Is your child interested in learning how to care for children in emergencies? Maybe looking to start making money in babysitting? Halsted is offering The Safe Sitter Program which is available for boys and girls ages 11 and up to handle emergencies when caring for children!
There will be 2 classes and you MUST be available to attend both classes.

This week, we are proud to celebrate Assistant Principal Week, and we couldn’t let it pass without recognizing someone who is truly the heart of our school— Mrs. Dunbar! We are so fortunate to have her as part of our community. Mrs. Dunbar is FUNdamental to everything we do- our core values, our daily routines, and the positive spirit that flows through our halls. Her calm presence, steady leadership, and genuine care for every scholar and staff member is unmatched!
