Mrs. Evans and her Advanced Art group traveled to the Grounds for Sculpture Museum in Hamilton today to celebrate Maggie Kays' representation in their Youth Art Month exhibit! Students got to spend a beautiful day exploring the grounds of the museum!

During a very successful in-service day for Staff, Coach Stroker gave an exciting and engaging final presentation on his E+R = O methodology and sent staff away feeling energized and ready to tackle the rest of the year with new found vigor!

Each year, Student Councils throughout the whole state of New Jersey raise money for the same charity. This year's charity is called Ava's Voice, which helps people with Usher Syndrome.
The Halsted Student Council will be selling St. Patrick's Day items after school on March 5th (TOMORROW) and 12th. All proceeds will be donated to Ava's Voice!
And remember... Scholars can wear their St. Patrick's Day gear to the parade in town on March 8th and to school on St. Patrick’s day, March 17th!!

Get ready for Read Across America Spirit Week! Next week (3/3-3/7), Halsted Library is hosting a Spirit Week to celebrate Read Across America week and to raise awareness for a love of reading!

On Friday, members and the mascot from the Sussex County Miners stopped by to spread awareness of the benefits of reading, to challenge students in a reading incentive, and to help us prepare for Read Across America which occurs next week!

C2C's Spread Love & Positive Communication Family Event was a great success!
The guest speaker was Dr. Andy Mars, the students created cards and wreaths to spread some love for Valentine's day.
These were delivered to local assisted living facilities!
#184DaysofBrave: Day 111 Members of the cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. were out on Spring St. yesterday with some parent volunteers to sell Ads for our upcoming show! These dedicated students were able to raise over $250 in an hour!

Our 8th graders are ready to dance the night away with their fellows scholars from Andover and Green at tonight's Tri-District Dance!

Coach Stroker was back yesterday with our full school assembly to talk about his Event + Response = Outcome! Some of our scholars were awarded for their leadership abilities and their willingness to help others!

On Friday, our Best Buds Group got to take part in some awesome Valentine's themed Minute to Win It Games!
#184DaysofBrave: Day 107 C2C’s Community Caring Club made over 50 Valentine’s Day cards. On Thursday, a few fifth grade members delivered the cards to residents of Liberty Tower during an ice cream social hosted by the Newton Recreation Department. The residents enjoyed the cards and conversation and our students learned the value of community service.

We would love to wish our Halsted community a Happy Valentine's Day! In addition to this celebration, we also want to celebrate that tomorrow is SRO Appreciate Day and we want to take the opportunity to sincerely thank Officer Justin Bellis for being such an amazing member of our team. We know our staff, parents, and students all appreciate him very much!

Join our C2C program this Thursday February 13th for their Spread Love & Positive Communication event. Students will be making cards, wreaths, and bracelets to be shared with local nursing home residents and Newton medical center patients!
